It’s no Lies of P, but the most popular Soulslike in Steam Next Fest is just the anime action RPG I was hoping it would be – and it’s coming to PS5 too

It isn’t the best thing I’ve ever written, but I have fond memories of my Code Vein review because it helped me officially codify the kind of anime action RPG junk food that I find irresistible. See also: Crymachina. Code Vein isn’t a great game, but I liked it a lot, and I’m getting exactly the same vibes from the Steam Next Fest demo for AI Limit, an upcoming Soulslike action RPG set in a sci-fi post-apocalypse. The demo is on PS5, too.By active players, AI Limit’s Steam demo is currently the most popular Soulslike in the whole event – I’m excluding Windblown, the new roguelike from the Dead Cells devs, because it’s not a Soulslike despite what Steam tags would say – and I can see why. This is what I like to call Another One of These. From the red-and-gray tutorial enemies to the stat sheet to the soft-spoken female lead who wakes up in a puddle dressed mostly in rags, I can’t shake the feeling that I’ve been here before. Bonfire checkpoints in dungeons with double-b…

400,000 people flood GTA 5’s starting area in the first day of GTA Online’s new Left 4 Dead-style zombie mode

GTA Online players have waited a long time for two things in particular: some brain-munching zombies to fight and an official return to GTA 5’s starting area. Now that both promises have been fulfilled in the new Ludendorff Cemetery Survival mode, which came out on October 10, hundreds of thousands of players are flooding in. Rockstar Games announced the new mode last week, confirming that players would finally be able to return to North Yankton, which you might remember as the snow-covered town from GTA 5’s opening where Trevor and Michael rob a bank, murder a few policemen, and ruin their relationship for years.GTA Online players weren’t actually able to explore the location without brute forcing their way in via glitches for years, since it’s somewhat disconnected from the open-world game’s main landmass, so this marks the first time people can freely go to North Yankton without the hassle. North Yankton plus zombies seems to have been a big enough deal for a whopping 400,…

Shattered Space won’t turn you into a Starfield believer, but it’s a good omen for The Elder Scrolls 6

Starfield: Shattered Space might not be the major rework or upgrade to the base game that longtime Bethesda fans were hoping for, but it certainly feels like a step in the right direction. Mind you, the powers that be at Bethesda Game Studios still believe the game is one of its very best, so expecting it to ever move closer to Fallout or The Elder Scrolls (and their DNA) is silly. But what does this all mean for The Elder Scrolls 6?Personally, I think it’s still far too early to predict how the sixth mainline Elder Scrolls will look and behave. We’re looking at a late 2026 release at the earliest, and with Bethesda’s latest now doubling down on polish and extra features – all while the modding sickos do their thing – it’s gonna be a while before attention is shifted towards our long-awaited single-player return to Tamriel. We can, however, infer a thing or two from Shattered Space’s more traditional bits, which were already present throughout the main game but feel much mo…
